I am a self-motivated, highly driven entrepreneur and philanthropist who has over 20 years experience running businesses in the IT, Communications & Entertainment sectors. I setup my first business Trojan Technologies in 1998. Trojan supplies, installs & maintains ERP & IT Systems mainly for the fishing industry in Ireland. In 2010, along with another entrepreneur from my home town, Elizabeth O'Donnell, we set up Junk Kouture. Junk Kouture is a national competition for second level students which challenges teenagers to create high-end wearable fashion from everyday junk. JK has sold out the biggest venues in Ireland, with a Grand Final in the 3Arena each year and over 2,5000 kids taking part in what now has become an institution on the Irish teenage landscape. In 2015 Junk Kouture is expanding into the UK, and our kids have appeared at the Cannes Film Festival, Royal Film Premieres, & at iFest in Boston. In 2013, together with Ryan Sharkey and Paul Curran we set up Wurkhouse as a Creative Digital Agency in Derry. Having grown a solid revenue base in year 1 - Wurkhouse is now working on converting its successful apps into white labelled products which can be easily sold across the world. In recognition of this work I won a place on the Propel 2015 Accelerator programme. I am very keen to help others and over the last 20 years have run shows and events to raise money for various charities. I have a passion for creativity and I love the platform JK has created for young people to show just what they can do when their energies are channelled in a good way. Through Wurkhouse we sponsor the local Rugby Club in Derry, and I am involved with helping financially those in lesser Movie, TV and Stage roles when they fall on hard times.
