Broadcast and Digital Media involves the study of how people communicate with others through electronic means – primarily radio and television. Of course, the development of the internet and other forms of electronic communication has allowed us to broaden our definition of telecommunication to include a variety of new media.This major also develops interpersonal and professional relationships at work, listening skills, the ability to effectively communicate in groups, and the ability to speak in public. Also, studying how to communicate in a variety of work-related contexts; for example: interviewing, leadership, public relations, group communication, and computer mediated communication.

Provide peer-to-peer mentoring for students seeking assistance with their public speaking skills. For eight hours each week, I am in the Public Speaking Center in Murphy Library at UW- La Crosse helping students through the public speaking process, no matter which step in that process they are currently at or working towards. As a mentor to students, I am also expected to help provide other tools that can assist them in the speech-making process that may be beneficial to their final product.

Vanguard has assisted the Admissions Office in recruiting high quality students to the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse. Vanguard is a volunteer, student public relations organization that represents the UW-La Crosse student body during campus tours, Campus Close-Up programs, college fairs, high school visits, and freshman registration. The primary responsibility of the Vanguard organization is to promote UW-L to prospective students.

Assist patients with nutrition to promote weight loss, and lowering cholesterol. Working with patients with renal or gastrointestinal issues. Helping patients with cancer-related nutrition concerns. Ensuring hospitalized patients' nutritional needs are met, as this is a vital part for recovery. Work closely with physicians and other members of the medical team to ensure every patient receives the best possible care.
