CurrentThis commission helps develop and maintain a county general plan; to prepare specific plansbased on the general plan and drafts of such regulations, programs, and legislation as may berequired for the systematic execution of the general plan and to recommend such plans andmeasures to the Board of Supervisors for adoption; to hold a public hearing on any proposedzoning ordinance or amendment to a zoning ordinance and, after the hearing, to render aa decision in the form of a written recommendation to the Board of Supervisors; to hear and decideapplications for conditional uses or criteria for determining such matters, and applications forvariances from the terms of the zoning ordinance; to periodically review the capital improvementprogram of the county; and to perform such other functions as the Board of Supervisors mayprovide.
