One of the senior engineers and technical leads on the Pro.com team. Worked closely with customers and stakeholders, from handymen to homeowners to C-level execs to discover problems and deliver effective software to simplify the process of managing the building of a home.Built several features for provider profiles during the first iteration of Pro.com, when the business was an online marketplace for customers to find tradesmen and GCs. Built a communications platform that centralizes and threads inbound and outbound text messages, phone calls, emails, Facebook messages, and messages sent through internal web apps across customers, sub contractors, and internal users. Built core services to manage our end-to-end fulfillment engine, including customer account and user management, "to-do" (or internal action) management, customer and subcontractor legal contract storage, versioning, and signing, features for our quoting engine, and more. Built the latest iteration of the pro.com website to better showcase our work as a full-service GC and to rank on search engines. Worked with execs in our team and at Walmart to roll out a bathroom remodel wizard for a partnership in 3-weeks. Most recently built a new website to allow our subcontractors to view and sign work orders and submit and track payments online. Stepped in when there were gaps in personnel early on, including building a VPN infrastructure and onboarding new hires, and going to a burnt-down apartment building to do measurements for a rebuild estimate. Facilitated engineering-wide discussions to develop consensus on technical decisions, such as iOS native vs React Native, how to divide our domains in a service-oriented / micro-services architecture, and building a rubric for auditing our service infrastructure for operational excellence. Lead the effort to develop our interviewing practices when we hired new engineers. Mentored junior and mid-level engineers, and managed interns and intern projects.

Software Development Engineer II (May 2012 - October 2014)● Lead engineer for the Amazon Crossing team, defining architecture and process for the next iteration of Amazon Crossing - a platform for literary translation.● Launched several incremental features and roles to improve the literary translation workflow and experience for Amazon Crossing.● Updated the experience on amazon.com for entering and viewing eligible promotions for e-books.● Developed and launched a public facing website for Amazon Publishing - apub.com.● Mentored 1 junior engineer and 1 intern.Software Development Engineer I (November 2010 - May 2012)● Entered as the fourth engineer on a product in development - Amazon Crossing - a platform for literary translation, bringing the platform live in April 2011.● Developed in perl, mason, java, spring, sql, html, css, javscript (highly leveraging jQuery).● Trained and mentored new hires within a year of starting.

Professional Service Engineer III - Lead (April 2010 - October 2010)● System integration between Varolii systems and many clients, including high profile banks and airlines.● Mentorship of junior engineers. ● Worked with our platform engineering, support, and project management teams to shape requirements for tools built for use by Professional Services, and the process for maintaining solutions built by Professional Services.Professional Service Engineer II (April 2008 - April 2010)● Lead engineer for a system that made tens of thousands of phone calls per day to potential credit card fraud victims on behalf of a large bank, automatically triggering corrective actions based on customer responses.● One of two engineers who built a new application to handle the integration with one of the world's largest airlines to notify customers via phone, SMS, and email of delays, upgrades, time changes, and cancellations.Professional Service Engineer I (April 2007 - April 2008)● Wrote various applications that cumulatively made millions of phone calls on behalf of clients to notify their customers of various pertinent events, including prescription renewals, temperature sensitive medication, late payments, delayed flights, and potentially fraudulent credit card charges.● Engineer for several integrations between Varolii and clients in various business verticals, including collections, medical care, banking, and airlines.
