Promotion to Tool Room Supervisor as of 11/07/2012

Here at Indepak in addition to being programmer/machinist and assistant supervisor, I handle the shops IT needs by maintaining our server, handing Predator implementation, Mastercam installation and support. I have managed the installation of machine tools and equipment. I am also the current chairperson for the safety committee.

I worked with the Machinists at MotoCzysz help them with practical application of Mastercam X in the machining complex 3D surfacing for Carbon fiber components molds. Designed and built fixturing for cylinder head, swing arm components etc. Titanium, Aluminum, and composite materials were utilized. I enjoyed the technical complexity and fast paced environment of working to build the American Moto GP bike., it was a welcome change from my daily routine.

Developed and implemented a pallet, and quick change fixturing system that current and new products could run. Started with 2 operators running 3 machines and left with 1 operator able to keep up with 4 machines, which opened a 5th machine up for product development. Helped with equipment purchase decisions and steered them towards solutions that eliminated unnecessary waste and risk, while improving overall quality and throughput.

Hilton Tool is a tool and die shop where I learned Surface grinding, EDM, Graphite electrode machining, proper squaring techniques, machining of all mold components on a variety of machines, knee mills, horazontal mills, surface grinders, CNC mills, tool sharpening, jig bore grinding etc. Much of the work in a tool shop is continual measuring to maintain very tight tolerances. I also spent some time learning mold polishing.

This is the first shop I worked in I started as a shop helped and worked up to the swing shift supervisor position, learning manual lathe and mill skills as well as CNC machining and Mazak lathe programming along the way.
