I am primarily a litigation and bankruptcy attorney. I also act as general outside legal counsel for emerging companies with technology and manufacturing businesses.I have a special interest in defending the free speech rights of individuals through anti-SLAPP litigation. I litigate anti-SLAPP motions in Oregon and Washington, and have argued in support of anti-SLAPP rights at the Washington Court of Appeals. In general litigation I successfully defended a multi-million dollar fraud claim against business owners; prevailed at arbitration on UCC merchantability claims for a specialty art-material company; and collected judgments involving fraudulent transfers, securities violations and anti-SLAPP attorney’s fees awards. As a bankruptcy attorney, I represent buyers and debtors in Chapter 11 cases involving the sale or purchase of substantially all of a debtor’s assets, as well as represent entities and individuals to confirm consensual and cram-down Chapter 11 plans. I also represent Chapter 7 and 13 debtors and defend motions to deny discharge and adversarial proceedings within bankruptcy courts.I am admitted to practice in Oregon and Washington state and federal courts.
