Managing the Tivoli monitoring environment across APAC (4000 production servers, 2000 UAT servers).Providing 24/7 production support.

Job Role:As part of a three man team, I was responsible for the infrastructure and agents which monitored 5000 servers across 15 Asia Pacific countries from India to Japan to Australia.Daily tasks included: 24/7 after hours hotline support, morning health checks, approving custom monitoring requests, migration/decommission of agents, deploying monitoring, troubleshooting monitoring requests from end users (Systems Administrators and Application Developers).Major achievements:Deployed/installed new Tivoli servers, and migrated over 4000 endpoints from old to new hardware.Deployed Nimsoft robots to 5000 servers (in preparation for Tivoli monitoring removal).Migration of Tivoli TEC to Netcool Omnibus.

Single-handedly maintain all the Tivoli core products running across 2000 Desktops and 180 Development/Production Servers.IBM installed Tivoli, and the person I replaced at StarHub had not done anything since its implementation. Thus the entire environment needed a lot of maintenance and automation.

Single-handedly revive the existing Tivoli environment to the latest Software versions of Tivoli. Deploy mission critical applications to all Philips PCs in Singapore.

St George's Systems Management relies on Tivoli software run on Solaris. My major Project was to implement a new Tivoli environment across multiple firewalls for St George's Internet Systems. The Project included customizing logfile adapters for the Internet servers, pushed out 7000 endpoints (Win2000 desktops and Windows NT Servers), implemented Tivoli Inventory and establish monitoring process (critical services, disk usage and CPU utilization)I also worked on a Project, which allowed the monitoring of ATM errors through Tivoli TEC. This involved translating ATM error codes and passing it through to the Call Centre Program which signals for maintenance. I was also on call support 24 x 7.

I was contracted to customize Woolworth's Tivoli Enterprise Server (Tivoli TEC). The Project involved writing Tivoli TEC Class's and rules and customizing NT/UNIX logfile adapters.
