I completed both Certificate 3 and 4 in Fitness in 2014, so I am a qualified Personal trainer. I also run a small sole trade business currently using these skills and offer very reasonably priced personal training or group fitness classes. In 2015 I worked as a lifeguard for Village Roadshow Theme Parks at Wet n Wild from February through to September. All the while I was also in the position of Resident Master at The southport School, where I currently work. I also study at Griffith University full time, now in my second year of a dual degree in Bachelors of Exercise Science and Business. From my previous experience in the workforce I have learned many skills that are applicable to every day life. In particular I have acquired some that are more than applicable when it comes to advancing my personal business and excelling in my field of health and fitness. These include:- Customer Service: Throughout my previous jobs I have dealt with numerous types of customers, learning that no two are exactly the same. Obviously customers are essential to any business, so it is necessary to be able to communicate effectively with people. It is important to properly listen to the customer and serve their needs, allowing them to feel important and welcomed.- Persistance and resilience: I have learned time and time again that there is no substitute for hard work. Cutting corners only ever comes back to punish you in the end. The skill of persistence and hard work will definitely be helpful in the work field of exercise science and can be applied to any business type.- Attention to detail: I have learnt from working on countless customer's homes that attention to detail is absolutely key.
