Troy Thompsen is a co-founder of TKOart. A specialist in art advisory and acquisition services, concept development, art direction and project management, visual branding, private commissions, collection management, and curatorial services, his client list includes MGM Studios, Fox Sports, Warner Bros, and many of Los Angeles’ top interior designers.Prior to forming TKOart, lifelong entrepreneur Troy Thompsen founded and ran Thompsen Art Group, an independent consultancy specializing in art procurement and framing services. Working with corporate and hospitality sector clients, as well as with high-profile private collectors, architects, interior designers, space planners, and facilities managers, he led efforts to identify and review art-related needs, design art spaces, procure pieces, and provide concept and design services for the framing and installation of artworks in offices, lobbies, conference rooms and public spaces.A graduate of the proverbial school of hard knocks, Troy found his calling when he brazenly walked into MGM’s corporate headquarters, and walked back out with a job as an art consultant. Attributing his passion for accessorizing and “knowing where things should go” to growing up in the furniture business, Troy has won the hearts of countless clients with his happy-go-lucky but spot-on art advisory services. He currently lectures at UCLA Extension, sharing tips with interior design students on how to select art, how to identify clients’ artistic leanings, and how to use art as a foundation for an overall interior design plan.
