As the Director of Friendship Walks, I am responsible for the oversight of 76 walk events in 38 states and regions across the United States. In 2024, our Friendship Walks are on pace to raise $5.8+ million with over 48,500 participants nationwide.Working directly alongside the Senior Director of Friendship Walks, my goal is to continue to enhance the experience for every event participant and grow the brand and presence of the Best Buddies Friendship Walk as a household name across the country.

As the Director of Development, I work directly with the State Director and have helped Best Buddies grow in Arizona by fundraising more than our state ever has in its 21-year history, leading to a robust community presence, additional staff hired, and more programs launched.A few highlights from the last year:- Raised over $115,000 for the 2021 Best Buddies Friendship Walk, increasing revenue by 15% from 2020 (and a 113% increase since 2017)- Raised more than $538,000 through the 2021 Champion of the Year campaign, surpassing our original revenue goal by 189% and setting a national high mark for fundraising in the event's history- Hit and surpassed our revenue goal for Corporate & Foundation grants

As the Deputy Director of Development, I am responsible for the planning, organization, and execution of fundraising and fundraising-related efforts for Best Buddies in Arizona. Fundraising and fundraising-related efforts for the Arizona office of Best Buddies include (but are not limited to):- The annual Best Buddies Friendship Walk, which raised over $96,000 in 2019- The Champion of the Year campaign and Spirit of Friendship Gala, which raised over $300,000 in 2018 - Grant management from a variety of sources, including foundations, corporations, and municipal and federal grants- Individual give campaigns, e.g. #GivingTuesday, Arizona Gives Day, and other national initiatives- Donor cultivation and stewardship- Management of CRM database- Annual budget planning

As Development Coordinator, I am responsible for the planning and execution of fundraising efforts for the signature state events for Best Buddies in Arizona. These events include the annual Best Buddies Friendship Walk and our biggest fundraiser of the year, the award-winning annual Spirit of Friendship Gala. In addition to special events, I am also responsible for assisting the State Director with all fund development-related activities, including grant management, donor cultivation, budget planning, and more.

As a Program Manager, I managed and maintained Best Buddies International standards within 12 high schools, 12 middle schools, and 1 elementary school throughout the Phoenix metropolitan area that work directly with persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities. I served as a resource to the chapters, helped them pair students with and without IDD in one-to-one friendships, provided key leadership opportunities through regular, hands-on trainings, and created new materials geared at helping each school create a more inclusive on-campus environment.In addition to this, I helped plan and execute several national events, including the Best Buddies Challenge events in Hyannis, Mass. and Hearst Castle, Calif. I also contributed and created several designs and marketing materials for the Phoenix office, including logos, t-shirt designs, and/or promotional material for many state events and initiatives, as well as smaller video packages for both grants and social media.

As a Recreation Leader at The Arc of Tempe, I helped plan, execute and run the evening program and events.During my tenure at The Arc of Tempe, I also served as the Interim Assistant Program Director during several periods of time. My duties included helping expand and execute our weekly Life Skills program, track and record all attendance, membership and financial numbers, and serve as a direct support to the Program Director.

As Sports Editor for The State Press at Arizona State University, I held the following duties and responsibilities:- Managed a staff of 11 writers, all reporting on different sports/beats- Attended and contributed to the daily budget meeting with the Editor in Chief and editorial board- Maintained a high standard of excellence in copy editing and reporting- Helped place and design sports pages on a daily basis

As Arts & Entertainment Editor for The State Press at Arizona State University, I held the following duties and responsibilities:- Managed a staff of 10 writers- Attended and contributed to the daily budget meeting with the Editor in Chief and editorial board- Held and maintained contacts with several record labels and film production companies, including Nettwerk Records, Western Vinyl, Vanguard Records, Paramount Pictures and more- Conducted several in-person and phone interviews with high-level celebrities, including one on-camera appearance
