I work on the engine systems team — a fun, talented, and diverse Integrated Product Team (IPT) dedicated to the successful assembly, test, and delivery of the next-generation Orion Main Engine (OME) for NASA. OME is a hypergolic liquid propellant rocket engine and will power the Orion spacecraft for Artemis Moon missions VII+ after all Orbital Maneuvering System (OMS) engines which have flown on the Space Shuttle are expended. My role as assembly lead is to support and coordinate engineering activities, particularly those concerning aspects of how OME will be assembled, inspected, tested, transported, and installed into the European Service Module (ESM). My additional responsibilities are widespread and include tracking and reporting on procurement and manufacturing status of certain critical OME subcomponents on a weekly basis, authoring and reviewing technical documents and drawings, hosting a weekly engine systems Line of Balance (LOB) style meeting to assign action where needed, and spearheading special tasks. I interact with IPT leads, design, stress, manufacturing, quality, process, systems, component/ project engineers, technicians, program managers, buyers, suppliers, and NASA officials. I have acquired hands-on experience with development OME hardware and heritage Space Shuttle OMS hardware.

Design engineer for Honda Racing HPD/ Acura Motorsports, a world-class team representing one of the most successful manufacturers in all of motorsports. Designs applied to Indycar, GTP, DPi, NSX GT3, F3/ F4, Civic TC, Shogo, and research. Designed ignition coil assemblies and heat shields on the Acura ARX-06 2.4L. Responsible for intake systems (2019-2021) and ignition systems (2021-2023) for all racing programs in addition to special tasks within top-end, bottom-end, electrical, cooling, testing, prototyping, and tooling. Design leader for K20C1 racing applications such as F3/ F4 and 10th generation Civic touring cars for four years. Tasks required widespread knowledge of automotive principles and skill in highly precise fitment and packaging (tens to hundreds of microns), failure analyses, data collection, materials selection, thermodynamics, fluid sealing, hoses and wires, CNC machining processes, carbon fiber construction, metal and polymer casting, and SLS and DMLS 3D printing. Presented designs to engineering management and pertinent groups for open technical discussion (waigaya), feedback, and iteration. Prepared a variety of technical documents for engine builders, race teams, sanctioning bodies, and customers. Worked with a small and diverse team of design, development, simulation, materials, manufacturing, and quality engineers, machinists, engine builders, buyers, and administrators. Fluent in CATIA V5 solid, surface, and assembly modeling. Produced drawings to strict standards including GD&T. Provided detailed parts lists and exploded views for complete engine subsystems. Determined allowable tolerances based on function, operating conditions, and stack-up analyses. Used Elfini to construct FEA models for calculation.Acquired hands-on experience assembling a Dallara DW12 Indycar chassis, including engine and aero kit installation. Shadowed the IMSA DPi and GTD trackside support teams during qualifying and race events at Long Beach in 2022.

Sole drafter for the USA’s #1 manufacturer of turnstiles, gates, barriers, and ticket admission systems. Played additional roles in design, manufacturing, test, quality, and sales. Demonstrated fast learning, thoroughness, ability to handle ambiguity, and exceptional skill in SolidWorks, hands-on prototyping, and 3D-printing on a Fortus 450MC utilizing heat inserts and advanced techniques. Setup print jobs using Insight software. As mechanical drafter, revised, checked, and released drawings from initial release and vendor deviations to full product updates and overhaul of legacy components. Assisted in developing a new drawing process for low-volume orders. Introduced drafting techniques to improve workflow. Tracked revisions and upheld standards internally without a PDM system. As design engineer, completed action requests for custom jobs and modifications to RFID and PCB assemblies, sheet metal enclosures, brackets, adapters, guide rails, labels, and diagnostic tools. Designed tooling to facilitate mods, sometimes same-day. Provided redlines for machinists on urgent request. Reverse engineered physical components.As manufacturing engineer, determined requirements to design jigs and locators for drilling, spot welding, label placement, spacing etc. Resolved issues on shop floor and identified areas for improvement. Required knowledge in vendor capabilities for sheet metal, plastics, and hardware. Sourced components and prepared purchase orders.As quality engineer, provided inspection reports with itemized criteria. Designed go-no gauges with instructions. Supported new product R&D, designed tooling, and provided drawings and documentation for a top rated manufacturer of racing suspension components that are 100% American made. Learned working principles of automotive suspension systems and all pertinent design and manufacturing processes.As design engineer, received training on damper valving principles, tuning, rebuilds, and installations to provide assembly drawings using SolidWorks. Worked with production floor and machine shop managers to provide tooling for manufacturing coil springs, anti-roll bars, and dampers including robotic welding fixtures, brackets, and gauges. Designed and 3D-printed molds for pouring urethane bushings. Designed a prototype machine to aid in damper assembly. Worked with marketing on various SEMA display projects.As manufacturing and test engineer, learned the setup and operation of Roehrig damper testers, custom spring test machines, and Faro CMM arms. Studied machinability of various materials to improve dimensional accuracy. Worked with upper management to refine inventory database tools.

Supported manufacturing and tool design at a Tier I aerospace supplier (acquired by F500 company) of major structural components and assemblies for the commercial and defense sectors. Demonstrated fast learning, versatility, effective communication, and the ability to work on shop floors for hours at a time.As manufacturing engineer, led several projects in improving safety, transportation, and reducing milling downtime. Researched lift devices for handling shrink-fit tool holders, automation to retrofit static grippers with magazine loaders, and use of a six-car, four-wheel steer tractor train to transport multi-ton workpieces across Rye Canyon Road. Worked with machine operators to outline requirements, researched technologies, and brought in outside vendors. Assisted continuous improvement in time studies setups, assembly floor layouts, and shadow boarding. Brought order to vast tooling inventory across 7 buildings and other remote facilities by physically locating items, building a database, and proposing wireless tracking systems during ongoing audit. Wrote Excel tool to ensure adequate cutter stock. Prepared weekly meeting materials and assisted engineers in documenting shot-peen processes and standards. As design engineer, supported projects for machining and transporting wing ribs, pylons, engine cowls, doors and door edge frames, and landing gear beams on the Airbus A330/350/380 and Boeing 737/777X/787. Projects include jigs and fixtures for CNC roughing and finishing, bench deburring, hand drilling and riveting, and bushing installation. Located critical features, determined clamping requirements, provided drawings, and documented instructions in CATIA. Studied state of the art, titanium milling processes (5/6-axis, 5-spindle), GD&T, fixturing and workholding principles (hydraulic clamping), and QC procedures using CMM. Designed collapsible dollies to transport fixtures and cutters.

Managed inventory of vintage Mercedes-Benz, Porsche, and Volkswagen restoration parts for a small business. Handled selection and packaging of Ebay orders. Assisted in restoration and assembly projects. Sourced a local vendor to produce plastic injection molded parts.

Performed a variety of freelance graphic design and multimedia work through CrowdSpring and other sources. Retouched and color-corrected images for resorts and fashion showcase start-up companies. Designed logos, banners, flyers, and other promotional materials. Modified images of automobiles to show body kits and other aftermarket components.

Co-founded a multimedia team and YouTube channel based around gaming streams and vlogging as it was first taking off in popularity. Me and my two best friends from high school collaborated on a variety of professional paid gigs involving photo shoots and video editing. We also built up a YouTube channel in the video gaming category that at one point had over 1 million total views. It was successful enough that we were paid by YouTube. I operated a DSLR camera for sporting events at Hart High School and edited material using Adobe Creative Suite.

Used graphic design, multimedia, and web development skills to construct promotional email blasts for the film and video game industry. Each promotional newsletter was made from scratch to go along with the visual style of the release being marketed. Designs were made up in Photoshop and then sliced into smaller segments and uploaded to an FTP server. From there the page was coded in HTML and sent out for mass marketing. Over 50 custom promotional newsletters were made.
