I used a combination of self-authored tools to analyze trends in ticket data and oncall surveys to identify systems that were causing pager noise, as well as the impact of ops reduction efforts to the actual oncall experience.- Transitioned the organization to fully automated deploys. Initially, the organization was spending dozens of developer hours every month to deploy code. I quantified the cost to leadership to endorse my work on this problem, then worked through several technical and social barriers to deployment automation.

AWS Outposts team. Creating control-plane services for AWS's hybrid cloud offering.Role:- Lead design of public-facing Outposts API vended through AWS SDKs and CLI- Scale the performance and operations of the serverless API implementation- Integrate the Outposts control plane with other AWS services to provide a seamless and consistent hybrid cloud customer experienceAccomplishments:- Identified that AWS services integrating with Outposts, which are used to testing on 'limitless' cloud servers, would be constrained by the availability and physical requirements of Outposts hardware. I worked with engineers from EC2 and EBS to create a 'mock' version of an Outpost that was free of these constraints, providing AWS services with a cheap, limitless source of Outposts for use in R&D and release validation.- Lead a full stack refactor of core Outposts APIs to allow high volume Outpost ordering. This involved frequent and close collaboration with Hardware, Field technician, Product, Frontend Engineering, and User Experience teams to identify the pain points in our ordering process. I identified several hidden validation steps across teams, formalized, and automated the validation to allow hands-off, high volume customer orders.Previous teams:- EC2 Instance Quality, monitoring service that reports the health of every EC2 instance.
