Passionate about our world, continuing to teeter on the edge of hope for the future that businesses, politicians and individuals will wake up to the environmental crisis and will act on this to drive true change in behaviour and systematic change through our world.With my move back home to New Zealand I have moved my focus away from encouraging more consumption via my brand licensing and product marketing roles to three key areas.1. Creating a stable environment for my adopted son and providing him with a new chance in life.2. Trying to drive awareness and change around the environment crisis and critical water issues in New Zealand through my new community role as a Water Zone committee member. It's a steep learning curve but I will keep on keeping on.3. As a newly appointed Board Director on the NGO, World Toilet Organisation I will be helping them find funding and awareness opportunities. Their work is vital and is intricately linked to all the systemic issues in this world around inequality and environmental destruction. Being part of the toy and licensing industries we can be guilty of creating, encouraging excess consumerism and waste. We felt that rather than being part of the problem we could use the long reaching connections within these two dynamic industries to drive positive change across the consumer products spectrum. It is easier to drive change from within than sitting on the outside complaining. Together we started with a small group of enthusiastic people from across the industry and this has already doubled in size. Our team of people recognise we can and we must change how we do business and how we create products starting with our own backyards. Together is better. We are finding our feet for the moment but have high ambitions - small steps will lead to great change because we believe in what we do.
