Hello, my name is True! I attended Utah Valley University to receive a bachelor's degree in applied communication with a minor in theatre arts. Communication is what makes the world go 'round, and I want to be a part of it. While at school, I have learned how to write in a journalistic style (specifically AP style), craft advertisements for various products and target audiences, run social media and public relations, and delve into several communication theories. I had the opportunity to use what I learned to help run social media accounts for the Junction City Roller Derby League, which is based out of Ogden, Utah. My minor also allowed me to hone my acting skills and allow me to discover a newfound love of playwriting. At this time I have written a ten minute play, which was selected to be performed at my university by fellow students, as well as a one-act play. I am hoping to use my degree to do communications for a music label or theatre group someday, or possibly write for music and theatre-centric magazines and websites. I also want to continue to hone my playwriting skills and write plays during my free time. I am very passionate about music and theatre, and my love for these art forms drives me to better my skills.I have worked part-time at the Weber County Ice Sheet as event staff for the past six years. I answer customer questions, check them in for scheduled skate times, hand out skate rentals, and help run hockey games and figure skating shows. I do my best to help provide a fun and safe ice skating experience. Within my work, I am open minded and I am a problem solver. I try to never leave a customer's question unanswered. At this job I have learned how to work as a team, how to run facilities during large events, and how to communicate with customers in-person and over the phone.A small side job I have had is doing digital and traditional art commissions. I enjoy bringing other's creative ideas to life, and drawing commissions allow me to do so. I enjoy doing commission work and I hope I can continue to accept commissions in the future.
