CurrentScoping review assessing various qualities of alternative animal source foods for the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), funded by the Gates Foundation, and overseen by Professor Mario Herrero, Director of Cornell Food Systems and Global Change. Objective is to create a consensus on the efficacy of alternative proteins in large scale food systems. Reviewed 8750+ articles as part of the team’s goal of 20,000 screened articles assessing nutritional quality and health impacts of alternative proteins.Synthesized and compiled research findings into a presentation for the UN FAO representatives, Gates Foundation funding supporters, and Cornell Food Systems professors.Assembled a consensus report for the UN FAO to put into use on the nutritional viability of plant based protein alternatives along with an evaluation of the environmental, livelihoods, affordability, and acceptability impacts.
