Dr. Morrison currently works as a Principal Computer Scientist & Enterprise Software Systems Program Manager in the Chief Technology and Innovation Office (CTIO) at JPL. Morrison's duties include working as the Caltech/JPL Software Technology Analyst and NASA/JPL Software Release Authority (SRA). Morrison is involved in research into innovative methods of analytics, machine-learning and how to infuse them more effectively into JPL flight projects, research projects and internally driven advanced technology tasks. Dr. Morrison oversees and evaluates all new software technology inventions at Caltech's Jet Propulsion Laboratory. Morrison is also responsible for licensing/releasing all JPL Open Source software. In addition, Morrison manages the licensing of all non-commerical software with U.S. and and foreign research organizations, U.S. Government Agencies along with U.S. and foreign universities. Morrison also works closely with the Caltech campus Office of Technology Transfer and Corporate Partnerships (OTTCP) for leading, managing and coordinating non-commercial licensing and filing of U.S. provisional patents relating to new highly innovative state-of-the-art software.

Dr. Morrison was responsible for working directly with software development teams to build NASA space flight missions. Recognized as a technical authority in transforming customer requirements into software architectures and system modeling to drive Software Product Line development. Instrumental in working with proposal teams following the Software Product Life Cycle (SPLC) to transform conceptual ideas into delivered software systems on time and with high customer satisfaction. Morrison has demonstrated the ability to work with all levels of management at JPL, with other NASA centers and with international partners.In addition, Morrison has been instrumental in leading the architecture and design of an internet web-based services for the Advance Multimission Operations System to be accessed by all NASA Centers and collaborating Universities.

Lead Cognizant Design Engineer (CDE) for the Antenna Research StudyTask (ARST) for the Department of Defense (DoD). I designed and development the antenna pointing software for two high-speed tracking antennas located at the Goldstone Tracking Facility located at Fort Irwin.Managed all phases of the software development life cycle from functional and software requirements to the integration and delivery of a complete system on time which successfully met the needs of the sponsor.

Senior software systems engineer for the Comet Rendezvous Asteroid Flyby Spacecraft (CRAF). Led the effort of building the ground based test-bed and was instrumental in developing of real-time program sets to control the operational state and perform health status monitoring of the spacecraft under test. Instrumental in developing software for the Network Operations Control Center (NOCC) Upgrade for the Jet Propulsion Laboratory. The NOCC Upgrade allows space flight mission controllers to better oversee, verify and control the operations of the Deep Space Network.

Lead software systems engineer for the design and development of real-time flight software (VRTX & VxWorks) to perform tactical decisions and threat assessment in order to reduce pilot and co-pilot workload. Software was written to execute on high-speed avionic computers aboard the Lockheed YF-22 (Raptor) Tactical Fighter aircraft.Co-Investigator for fault-tolerant flight systems research program in support of developing highly reliable software for aircraft. Designed and programmed ground-based tactical decision aides for Anti-Submarine Warfare (ASW) projects funded by the United States Navy (USN).Led the software upgrades to the Officer in Tactical Command Information Exchange System (OTCIXS) as part of the US Navy Satellite Communication Systems.Designed and implemented software/firmware to execute on the Display and Control Processor (DCP) as part of the next-generation P3-C Orion reconnaissance aircraft for the US Navy.
