The Center for Public Investment Management (CPIM) provides continuing education to Ohio's public funds managers and their oversight authorities as required by ORC 135.22 and 321.46. In order to obtain required continuing education credits, public funds managers can attend CPIM conferences, CPIM accredited course(s) sponsored by a professional association, or CPIM online courses. CPIM offers the highest standard of comprehensive education and instruction in the areas of public finance, investments, cash management, ethics, tax collection, auditing & accounting, security, and transparency.In addition to efficiently executing the core functions of the CPIM program - curriculum development, conference planning, video production, accreditation review, and data tracking - my leadership has focused on implementing new strategies and technology in order to develop a leaner, more responsive program to better serve both participants and tax-payers.Also in the educational space, the Treasurer’s office provides Ohioans with helpful tools to make informed decisions in personal finance by supporting local public-private partnerships and leveraging technology to bring these resources directly to Ohioans.In particular, I serve on the STABLE outreach team to educate the disability community about new savings and investment accounts available to them following the passage of the federal ABLE act.

Schuring for Congress (OH-16) was one of 2008’s most expensive Congressional battles. During my five months on the campaign, we raised $777,000, with $289,000 in just the first three weeks.

I worked on various fundraising, event planning, and government relations projects for our clients, most prominently for American Solutions and the Buckeye Institute.

I was part of a traveling field staff coordinating statewide corporate grassroots coalition building. We worked to influence legislation affecting small businesses in the following states and cites: Texas, Oregon, Alabama, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Dallas, Fort Worth, Houston, and San Antonio.

I supported 3 partners, 9 associates, and 1 senior paralegal working on 9 major cases in Texas, Louisiana, New York and abroad, while managing 4,000+ files. A portion of those files included witness notebooks of unique discovery documents for a 300+ plaintiff case.

I supported the Convention Coordinator in preparation for and during the 2004 Republican National Convention in New York, NY. I organized 834 delegates’ week-long stays and collected and recorded payments totaling over $600,000. I also helped to plan six Ohio Delegation receptions at high end New York venues with a budget of $1.2 million.

I supported the campaign fundraising staff to coordinate and staff fundraising events, recruit and thank donors, and execute mail projects.
