I am a citizen scholar and civic entrepreneur committed to dissolving cultural and practical barriers to equitable change. In my scholarship and public work, I seek to enhance my understanding of and engagement with the structures and events that shape my life and the lives of my fellow citizens. Trained as a historian and drawing on an eclectic blend of political and social theory to advance the cause of higher education reform, I try to ground my thought and action in the shared understandings that emerge from frank engagement and challenging but tolerant relationships with others. I often fail at all these things. I would love to tell you how, and learn from you how not.
