Responsibilities• Responsible for the overall road design, design review, delivery and construction coordination of typical road and multidisciplinary road projects.• Contributed significantly in the preparation of ( man hours and scope of works) proposals and co-ordinate with Bid Managers to win new projects.• Interview and contribution to recruitment process.• Design review, progress monitoring and control (in house and overseas design team) for quality and timely delivery.• Regular client interactions, overall communication management and point of contact from conceptual to construction.• Overall road design management and coordinate with interdisciplinary design teams and external (utilities) stakeholders to resolve design issues and develop integrated design solutions (in line with safe system strategy) not limited to sustainability, road safety, health and safety, traffic calming, value engineering.• Undertaking independent design review of other consultant’s submission (as part of project management consultant (PMC)) and present to client through findings and analysis and recommendation report.• Responsible for preparation of detailed design report highlighting the integrated design development process with considerations not limited with public realm, pedestrian and cyclist facilities, road safety, emergency access\ egress, health and safety and sustainability for the Station Area Planning of Qatar Metro Schemes.• Undertake Design Review of the proposed local access road network of Qatar Metro station area planning project, identify the departures and propose mitigations.• Lead the technical workshops with Contractor and PMC as design team representative for evaluating road design solutions.• Review and approval of contractor’s submittals; RFI, Shop drawings, Specifications, Bill of Quantities and monitor the construction progress and co-ordinate closely to avoid rework and variations.

Responsible for the design of expressways, local roads and drainage programme (LRDP) projects. Design management, Design of Interchanges and various types of at-grade junctions, Pavement design, Traffic signs and Road markings, Road restraint systems, Interdisciplinary design team coordination, Design quality management, Utility liaison and coordination, preparation of various design reports for entire life cycle of project, Land expropriation / encroachment / right of way clearance(ROW) drawings and coordination, Internal design coordination for utilities stakeholders approval, check and review of design deliverables, designers risk assessment for highways and utilities, road safety review and administration as a senior designer, design progress control and timely technical design delivery of projects. Sathish establish Civil 3D design workflow for better design management and working process, project progress monitoring and report to project manager, assisting project manager on various project management and technical delivery activities, traffic calming, co-ordinating with interdisciplinary teams to ensure technical review, quality management and timely delivery of the project. Mentoring engineers and designers on various aspects of highway design and allied areas.Worked closely in the client (PWA) environment and responsible for the Interim road works by creating outline design proposals and further translate them to conceptual, preliminary, detailed design and construction drawings. Accountable for check and review of design deliverables, designers risk assessment for highways, road safety review and administration as a senior designer, design progress control and timely technical design delivery of projects and utilities coordination for successful implementation of Public Works Authority Interim road works.

Lead team of engineers and designers on overseas engineering business and responsible for resource planning, outline road design solutions, design development & quality management, timely delivery and acquirement of new projects from overseas clients. Sathish performs role of senior engineer & design leader in design & detailing of rural and urban road design (Roundabout and Interchanges design), road maintenance and airports for entire lifecycle of projects from Netherlands, UAE and India. In addition, Sathish establish design quality system procedures and checklist for better working process, project progress monitoring, control, co-ordination, technical guidance and mentoring engineers and designers on various aspects of highway design and allied areas. Sathish also responsible for conducting technical interviews, inducting new employee within the team by on-job training, job rotation and interacting with internal clients to help and maintain healthy work flow within the team.

Responsible for detailed highway design and preliminary drainage design for major projects (N6 Galway to West Ballinasloe (PPP Scheme), M25 Resurfacing and Widening (DBFO Scheme) and many urban highway improvement schemes as per DMRB Standards. Expertise in DMRB, NRADMRB, MCHW and RCD standards. Mentoring / coordinating junior engineers and designers on various aspects of highway design.Highway design experience includes detailed highway design, roundabout design, at grade and grade separated junction design, interchanges and dumb-bell roundabout design, major/minor priority junctions, design of grade separated and compact grade separated junctions, design of Police(gardai) platform and police enforcement areas and emergency access.Drainage design includes, design of road gullies, road edge channels and sewer systems.Coordinated closely with project managers in the design development and approval process, enhanced knowledge on drainage database preparation, design of cycle track layouts, application of traffic calming measures and road markings as per TSRGD / DMRB standards. Mentoring junior engineers and designers on various aspects of Highway Design. In addition, possessing knowledge in Construction Design Manual (CDM) regulations and also in development of visual reality models.

Responsible for geometric design, digital terrain model (DTM) preparation, optimum horizontal and vertical alignment design with Cut and Fill balance as per Indian Road Congress and AASHTO standards. In addition, attending client design meetings and addressing client queries, accountable for typical road cross section finalisation, utility planning, junction design, estimation and costing, detailed design of intersections and interchanges using Inroads and Mxroads.Mentoring and coordinating junior engineers and designers.

Contributed to rural road planning and geometric design of highways. Responsible for handling of satellite imageries and block level maps for road schemes, Geo-referencing and Mosaicing of block level maps, spatial database preparation through (LRS and DS) linear referencing system and dynamic segmentation technique, Thematic map generation, Cartography, Alignment design and Junction improvement.Assisting Junior engineers in preparation of rural road plans using Map info software and preparation of thematic maps and cartography.Co-ordinating with project leaders on in house research activities such data collection, analysis and preparation of presentations.
