I am a socially-engaged artist working with communities on durational projects to recover and highlight marginalised histories. My work spans a variety of media including performative events, guided ‘artwalks’, printed matter, and creative interventions in the public realm. I'm currently the Lead Scottish Artist for 'Memory of Water' (2018-2020), a project examining post-industrial waterfronts in six European cities, funded by Creative Europe. Other ongoing projects in Scotland include 'Fair Glasgow' (with Travelling Showpeople, co-devised with Dr. Mitch Miller), and 'Protests and Suffragettes' (recovering and highlighting women’s activism in Govan, both 2013-present). For over a decade,I have worked with diverse communities to develop creative heritage and socially-engaged art projects in post-industrial urban environments, collaborating with under-represented communities in Govan (Glasgow), across Scotland, and internationally.

Recipient of a practice-based Collaborative Doctoral Award (CDA) in Theatre Studies at Glasgow University funded by the Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC), in collaboration with the (then) new Riverside Museum of Transport, part of Glasgow Museums. My practice-led research developed engagement strategies through co-curated events and participatory performance, investigating how artistic practice (socially-engaged / public art, and participatory performance) can be used to increase audience engagement within a heritage context.Submission Nov 2016 / degree awarded June 2017.
