I am a Project Owner and Lead Full-Stack Software Engineer at Sage Bionetworks. In the past, I was a postdoctoral researcher at IBM where I organized one of the largest DREAM Challenges (>1000 participants, >14 TB of data, $1M prize money). Two of the best-performing participating teams have obtained FDA approval for their AI-powered breast cancer detection tools.In a nutshell, I have a broad set of experience, interests, and skills reflected by my academic and professional career path. I studied microengineering - a mix of mechanics, electronics and computer science - at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Lausanne (EPFL). During my PhD, I started contributing to the organization of DREAM Challenges, a non-profit initiative for advancing biomedical and systems biology research via crowd-sourced competitions.I do have broad interests and skills and I am proficient in full stack development (backend and frontend), UI/UX development, and data visualization. I also love IoT development, network security and exploring new technologies that improve our reproducibility and productivity (e.g. monorepo, development containers, low-code development).My background in engineering and research enables me to build bridges between teams and identify new business opportunities.
