• Deployed the API Gateway Kong to manage traffic to containerized microservices on AWS Fargate.
• Developed a Kong plugin connecting sessions to an OAuth proxy server for passwordless logins.
• Achieved end-to-end observability by integrating interactive monitoring via Datadog with MP’s VPC.
• Established MPContribs as MP’s first fully cloud-based service accompanied by a major modernization of its API, python client, and UI to achieve stable operations, high uptimes, and massive speed improvements.

• As first career staff, was critical to the Materials Project's (MP) growth from 8.5k to 89k users and its long-term strategic plan.
• Primary engineer for operations of MP’s first-principles high-throughput structure calculations. Grew materials database entries from 100k to 250k and established infrastructure for calculations of user-suggested.
• MPContribs: Designed, developed and soft-launched the software and compute infrastructure for a new platform enhancing MP with data sharing and community contributions, and moving MP towards a “Google of Materials”.
• MPCite: Envisioned, initiated, and executed collaboration with DOE Office of Scientific Technology and Information (OSTI) to assign Digital Object Identifiers (DOIs) to all MP materials and become OSTI’s star data.
