Leading, coordinating, and organizing a cross functional team of professionals to develop, maintain, and publish PC applications in the music, photo, and plug-ins area. The department set-up I managed contained product & project management, engineering, and quality assurance enabling it to develop products from the first idea to the final launch. Thereby guided I the different functions to work optimal and to create needed processes. SCRUM was used as the project method inside the department to co-ordinate the work between product management, engineering, and quality assurance.Later on was the department extend with a team based in China, which was then successfully integrated into the existing agile processes. Meanwhile I took over tasks as the stand-in for the product line manager, including cross coordination of departments inside the product line, budget process, etc.

Guiding and coordinating a team of world wide distributed developers, driving the development, and ensuring the correct implementation of the product management needs. I introduced SCRUM as development process for the local team in Germany to have a better planning basis with the team and the involved product management. One of the challenges was to co-ordinate the low-level development between the SCRUM team and the external developers which had specific domain knowledges. At the same time I took over user interface design task to layout and improve the workflows inside the player software.

Development of Nero Mobile a cross-platform media playback software for video & music files running on WinCE, Symbian, and Linux. First major task was the creation of a platform agnostic UI layer providing the same look and feel of the player on all platforms. Afterwards I focused on the implementation of the RTP/DLNA streaming and the design of the multimedia pipeline of the player software. The whole player development was done in C/C++.

Development of a video streaming prototype between a WinCE mobile device and a PC for observation purposes in the industry area. Creation of a quality evaluation framework for VoIP calls with the possibility to change used codecs, bit rates, and to simulate packet loss on the stream.
