I am Head of EMEA Legal Department and Assistant General Counsel at Wells Fargo, with over 20 years of legal experience in corporate finance, multifaceted cross-border transactions, banking, M&A, governance and restructuring, gained in-house as a front office banker and in private practice. As strategic business partner and an integral part of Wells Fargo EMEA Management Team, I play a key role in guiding leadership decisions that harmonise commercial drivers from a legal perspective. My career started with Magic Circle law firm, Slaughter and May in 1996, having graduated in Economics and Politics from the University of Bristol, plus an MA from the School of Oriental & African Studies and completed my legal studies at the College of Law, London. In 2004, I joined RBS as Legal Advisor, quickly progressing to Head of Structured Finance Legal in 2006 and then, in a business capacity, as Director of GBM Treasury in 2007 and Director of Liability Management DCM in 2009. Here, I advised on a diversity of bond buybacks, structured property finance, leverage finance, shipping and strategic portfolio management, as well as balance sheet transactions. Transaction highlights include the bank's first £3.5BN corporate loan securitisation. Upon moving to Well Fargo in 2011, I established a cohesive, high-performing legal team and doubled the level of transactional support across 36 lines of business. I have brought a legal viewpoint to top-tier decisions, strengthened relationships, and leveraged commercial development and sustainable growth across people, process and systems.Member of several strategic regional forums, including Risk, Management, Underwriting and New Initiatives Committees, as well as heavily involved in the role out of key strategic projects such Brexit, Recovery and Resolution Planning schemes, introduction of Senior Mangers Regime and regional corporate structures.I am always interested in connecting with those who want to know more about my work.
