His operating experience includes both commercialization and R&D leadership including strategy, market analysis, finance, sales & marketing, contracts, deal diligence, entrepreneurship, operations, people leadership, scientific & technology management, product management, discovery, process development, data science/ML, software/data infrastructure, teaching and academic research. He received his BS in Mechanical Engineering from Princeton University, and his Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering from Boston University.Dr. Gardner is a co-founder of the field of Synthetic Biology as noted by the journal Nature. He has been recognized as a technology pioneer by Technology Review, the New York Times, Scientific American.
