If one asked me to give an abridged description of what drives me, then the phrase "I am a person that is driven by curiosity" would be the answer. To be driven by curiosity means that I inherently aknowledge and act on the importance of applying a growth mindset in achieving objectives and attaining the relevant experience for my aspirations in technology, science and entrepreneurship. I have accumulated a number of technical skills from academia that have since helped me adapt and carve my own path in technology. I have a background in Applied Mathematics and Physics from the University of Cape Town, and I am currently applying my technical skills in mathematics, statistics, computer programming and research in the applications of machine learning and deep learning. I am currently garnering experience in cloud computing, in relation to model training and virtual machine instances on platforms such as IBM Watson and Microsoft Azure - all done within the constraints of a Start-up Environment. As it is my goal to challenge myself in a startup environment, I have experience in testing, optimizing and deploying simple machine learning applications on IoT edge devices. I work mostly in Python for scripting, debugging and engineering machine learning programs using relevant libraries, APIs and frameworks such as tensorflow, pandas and opencv. My goal in technology is to not only challenge myself in solving problems, the goal is to also learn, inform and to build relationships and networks with the purpose of creating value.
