About Tom Siechert
I have always been a big picture thinker and visionary leader – be it Main Street, Wall Street or Academia.► AWARD-WINNING ENTREPRENEUR My career began in high school when I landed a job as a computer repair technician. At 19, I helped found a retail computer store. At 22, I founded TechSource Computers. During 9 years in business, in addition to growing yearly sales from zero to $2.5M, our team achieved national recognition in 2000, being named one of Apple’s “Best Stores” in the country (2nd place, SW region.) ► IT PROCUREMENT GURUIn 2003, I transitioned from the private to public sector, and began a new career as a Senior IT Procurement specialist at California State University, Fresno. In this role, I specialized in the procurement of IT products and services, drawing upon my extensive experience in information technology and the business world.► IT ACCESSIBILITY AND PROCUREMENT LEADERIn 2013, I accepted the biggest challenge yet and took on the role of ATI Procurement Program Manager. In addition to retaining all previously assigned responsibilities as the campus' senior IT Procurement Officer, I became Fresno State’s first staff member assigned to proactively work on IT Accessibility. In my new Accessibility role, I developed award-winning innovative frameworks and systems which supported the adoption and management of enterprise-wide IT compliance and governance, and served as a subject-matter expert who helped develop policies and processes that supported IT Accessibility efforts at the 23 California State University (CSU) campuses.
