Why is it called "Celebrating Lives"? We have all been to a funeral of someone we knew really well and their eulogy reveals things we wish we knew before. My work in the care sector requires building trust with a person with dementia to a level where they invite me in to share all those things only heard in eulogies and so much more. It's never pre-planned or forced. They invite me in.I then build on the insights they share and bring them to life in the most appropriate way through videos, photos, music, recreating experiences; even using Virtual Reality. Memories of events and people in their lives come alive often pushing aside the fog of dementia.Every person's life is worth celebrating now rather than later.They have special opportunities to then share these with family, friends, residents and aged care staff.The life they have lived, are living now and have yet to live are all worth celebrating!

My Father was diagnosed with Dementia around 14 years ago, At that time person-centred care was sadly lacking. He became isolated and frustrated through the lack of personal interaction as did many others around him.Rather than remaining frustrated with the lack of person centred care, I decided to be part of the change I was seeking.I started reading about various studies overseas, undertook University study and talked to the game-changers in Australia and other counties who were able to bring joy into the lives of those with dementia.I decided to commit myself to the sector and approached Catholic Health Care. I started with Home Visits to those receiving Home Care who had dementia. I spent a few hours a week with them at home and followed them through various stages of Respite Care, Hospitalisation and finally Aged Care Homes.

I led an account service team of 3 to also improve processes across all clients and implement a dedicated Business Development Program.

Managed the Partnerships with 8 external agencies: Brand, Digital, Media, Events, POS, Retailer Education Programs and Promotions. Production, implementation and campaign analysis across Australia and New Zealand.Agencies included: JWT, Leo Burnett, Mindshare, Starcom, Onque, ABT, Bamboo Marketing.Cheil Australia was ultimately responsible for each and every marketing activity delivered on-brand, on-time and on-budget with an annual spend of $40 million+

I led the Account Service Team of Rh Positive (Ad Partners Business to Business Agency). Clients included Mitsubishi, American Express Platinum, Silversea Cruises, TNT Komatsu, Powertel Great Southern Energy, EAC and Centrepoint. I also led the agency's business development campaign.Developed a major marketing partnership for Silversea Cruises including Amex Platinum, Swift & Moore (Moet & Chandon Champagne), Le Cordon Bleu Academy and Bvlgari. The direct marketing campaign for a series of exclusive events returned a response rate of 38%. The sales from one of the 4 exclusive events more than paid for the Campaign.
