1. Responsible for the analysis of failure mechanisms that are being encountered on materials, in-process products, and finished products from Assembly, Test Center and external customers. Identifies potential source of problem, which may be used for product and process improvement.• Microscopic analysis using optical microscopes (low and high power microscopes)• Scanning electron microscopy or micro structural analysis• Selective etching using hazardous chemicals (strong acids and bases)• Photomicrography or digital imaging of samples to document FA results• FA reports writing2. Supports process evaluation and device qualification by documenting material characteristics through SEM analysis3. Performs reliability stress tests as part of product/ material full qualification or lot acceptance screening like thermal shock, accelerated moisture resistance test4. Analyses grain characteristics of gold wire to inspect possibility of wire erosion/ breakage through SEM.5. Performs CSAM (scanning acoustic microscopy) to determine delamination and voids on different devices. 6. Performs cross-section analysis to specific region of interest to determine different anomalies on different units/packages.
