PresidentHopeful Halos Foundation Apr 2019 - PresentOur son suffers from a very rare genetic condition known as Angelman Syndrome. AS is caused by a faulty gene in the 15th chromosome, UBE3A, and results in substantially decreased neurological function. While the abilities of Angels are quite variable, all Angels suffer from impaired gross and fine motor function, heightened sensory needs, irregular sleep patterns. Most Angels are unable to speak any words, suffer from epilepsy, and some are unable to walk. We started the Hopeful Halos Foundation to raise funds in support of therapeutic research for AS.
