Software Development Management over 13 software engineers. Managed up to five J2EE/WebLogic Integration customer solutions integration projects concurrently. Our team delivered a nine month project using SOA with eight developers on schedule and on budget. Daily involvement with cross-functional personnel from QA, IS, Operations, project management, and architecture. Instrumental in guiding development organization to an agile development methodology. Lead developer of Foglight for Sybase product which is used to monitor Sybase database systems in Fortune 500 companies. Involved with development and maintenance of the following versions: 1.5, 1.6, 1.7.x, and 2.0 (in development). Developed entire back-end of version 1.0 of the Spotlight on Sybase ASE product which is used to troubleshoot problems with Sybase database systems. Developed and supported C++, Delphi, Java, and T-SQL code which runs on various UNIX OS versions as well as Linux and Windows NT/2000. Worked closely with QA, technical support, documentation, and marketing personnel. Experience in full software development life cycle.

Developer on WebDNA architecture group that builds frameworks upon which DBXray and WebDBA products are built. Worked on WebDNA’s front-end using Java and JFC/Swing. Created initial screen layout and high-level design for proposed DBXray for Sybase product. Key developer of PATROL for Informix product that is used to monitor Informix database systems in approximately 200 companies. Involved with development and maintenance of thefollowing versions: 7.2.03, 7.3, 8.1, 8.2, and 8.3. Developed and supported C/C++, ESQL/C,and PSL code which runs on most UNIX hardware and recent OS versions as well as WindowsNT. Made many significant performance improvements to support large customer sites. Worked closely with QA, technical support, documentation, and marketing personnel. Gained experience in full product life cycle. Conducted technical interviews.

Experienced with all software life cycle phases. Also worked as member of Integrated User Interface (IUI) team through preliminary design phase developing mockups of about fifty windows for the system using C/Motif and X-Designer. Served as backup IUI team lead. Responsible for conducting numerous technical interviews. Experience with estimating effort, in source lines of code (SLOC), setting design and development deadlines, and participating in and conducting peer code reviews. Experience with object-oriented design and programming. Experience briefing customers at Preliminary Design Reviews (PDRs) and Critical Design Reviews (CDRs). This work required a Top Secret clearance.

Key member of the Data Communications team. Performed on-going maintenance, new development, and support for the Distributed Updates Scheduler system written in C++, Informix ESQL/C, and Rogue Wave Tools.h++ class libraries. The, nearly 24 by 7, scheduler system guaranteed delivery of software updates to over 8000 UNIX systems (HP-UX, NCR, AIX, and Solaris) world-wide. Previously served as team lead for TopEnd middleware group responsible for developing infrastructure distributed processing server software. Designed and implemented several production servers in C using distributed processing technology. Provided beeper support for Data Communications Team. Also involved in CGI development for intranet with HTML, Perl, and Informix. Developed system-level code using interprocess communication and taking advantage of multiprocessing. Experience with object-oriented design and programming.

Member of Frameworks team on the Customer Information System project for Southern California Gas Company. Lead over on-line migration team involving direct supervision of 2-4 client personnel. Assisted with integration of Smalltalk client-side source code with host-side COBOL code to create application releases. Performed regression testing of system and made releases to three different test groups. Co-developed automated GUI testing tool using Smalltalk which enabled team to conduct automated regression testing for the entire application prior to application releases. Reduced turn-around time for application releases to System Test from once every two weeks to three times per week. Member of the client-side application performance team. In charge of application development environment support and configuration management for 50 developers in a Visual Smalltalk, OS/2, PVCS environment. Learned object-oriented design and programming skills with a pure OO language.

Lead programmer for the Fallout Assessment System used by USSTRATCOM, NORAD, the Defense Intelligence Agency, and the British Ministry of Defense. Two years of C development experience with X-Window/Motif on Sun and HP platforms. Ported applications from Sun OS to HP-UX, Solaris, AIX, and SCO UNIX. Experience designing application program interfaces for distributed systems. Traveled to user's sites to install software systems. Collaborated with other defense contractors on systems integration projects. Assisted in completion of a Microsoft Windows-based expert system for the Navy. This work required a Secret clearance.

Designed and developed PC database applications for Information Center clients. Evaluated new hardware and software products for corporate use. Provided advanced technical support to Help Desk customers from all U.S. districts with difficult PC hardware, software, electronic mail, and mainframe connectivity issues. Arranged and supervised outsourcing of PC hardware and software installations. Promoted after three months from intern to full-time status while attending college full-time as well.

Developed a sales prospecting system in Pascal for field agents. Created marketing presentation programs for use on laptop computers during sales visits. Provided PC hardware and software technical support for all South West region field representatives (over 2000 users). Responsible for installation and maintenance of PC hardware and software. Contributed articles to region's monthly technical support newsletter.
