35 year career in digital learning, riding the cusp the internet and digital media that revolutionized teaching and learning. My career spanned ten years in Wisconsin K-12 and twenty five at the University of Illinois. These 35 years culminated in leading design of the media strategy for the game changing iMBA program at the Gies College of Business. At Gies I grew a team from two to twenty media professional and implemented five studios, purpose-built to fit the requirements of a fast moving at-scale degree program. The iMBA has earned numerous accolades including the number one innovation in business education the decade (2021) and number one MBA program in the world both by Poets & Quants. (2022)Retirement has provided me the opportunity to step away from active direction of the programs at Gies and allows me the opportunity to share my experience with other institutions as they journey towards pedagogical innovation. Currently pursuing mixing and mastering of artists in Central Illinois including Amasong, Ryan Groff, Elsinore, The Mean Lids, Tom Turino, Tree Thump, Travis Wesley Hoover, The Divide, Mille Nome, Sven Johnson, Ator Forty, An Evening With Your Mother, Darren Hackey, Rick Deja, The Javelinas, The Virtues, Rocky Maffitt, Mike Clayton, The Violents and many others.

I bring technical knowledge and an equal background in digital pedagogy to meet the instructional needs of online programs. The MOOC/Online MBA requires the planning of an entirely new curriculum and supporting media production workflow. I spearheaded the building of consensus between campus stakeholders including leaders from the administration, faculty, instructional design, communications, marketing and branding, information technology and digital media. I emphasize high quality videos for learning that complement the College of Business brand. To meet production targets, I've designed three studios to fulfill three needs: quality, repeatability, and a safe, comfortable experience for the faculty. Facing the challenge of developing over 40 courses in a three-year time span required equipment and workflows based on a broadcast-style production environment. The starting platform to accomplish this was a fully digital, three 4k camera, live switched studio with a variety of on-stage sets applicable to teaching, demonstrations, talk shows, podium lectures and other delivery styles were implemented in this space. The two newer spaces are targeted specifically for our "Live Sessions" that gather our online graduate students into virtual classrooms where they engage in discussion, work in small groups, do presentations and are joined guests from around the world. For more information about the studios please see the Campus Technology link below.Finally, I continue to forge new linkages between automated classroom capture technologies, (formerly operated as an IT service) and the eLearning Office to better support instruction on and off campus, and around the globe. I have begun creating a repository of all learning media captured in the College of Business’ classrooms as well as produced video from the studio. My goal is to provide easy search and discovery of existing video to feature the best efforts of faculty for future teaching and learning.

Hired as one of the original three members of the Golden & Associates instructional technology team, a consulting and support group focusing on K-12 education in Wisconsin. Responsibilities included researching and writing long range planning reports, staff development planning and instruction, multimedia production and system design, and research into curricular issues surrounding technology implementation in K-12.

Coordinated K-12 and Administrative Computer systems in a 1700 student district that encompassed 6 building sites. Accomplishments include the implementation of 3 building wide networks at each elementary site; management of the installation of a district wide UNIX network for administrative software, electronic mail, and calendars; led the curriculum integration of computer skills into each content area eliminating general computer applications classes.
