My expertise at Floyd|Snider included construction management, environmental strategy, environmental engineering, data evaluation, technical writing, task management, and project management. Example projects include: researching and authoring a benefits document for use in financing for a complex renewable energy project; construction oversight for the installation of a $10 million stormwater conveyance and treatment project at an industrial facility; leading the preparation of construction documents for a $7 million environmental remediation project and serving as the owner's representative during construction; and leading development of a compliance strategy and engineering report for a stormwater and fugitive dust issue at an industrial facility. At F|S, I authored numerous work plans, remedial investigation/feasibility studies (RI/FSs), data reports, cleanup action plans, engineering reports, and construction plans and specifications on projects involving environmental remediation and storm water treatment design.

My Master's thesis work was at the University of Vermont and was funded by a graduate assistantship grant (UVM Transportation Research Center and NSF grants). I conducted research on the atmospheric aging of PAHs adsorbed to diesel particulate matter and quartz fiber filters at atmospherically relevant ozone concentrations. Through my research, I identified polar organic compounds that formed in the atmosphere during the aging of PAHs and particulate matter. Daily tasks included lab analysis and management, GC/MS operation and maintenance, design of controlled laboratory experiments, diesel particulate matter sampling, and kinetic experiment analysis. My work also included conducting biodiesel exhaust analysis and extensive literature reviews on alternative and renewable fuels. Coursework included classes in transportation and sustainability, environmental chemistry, groundwater, GIS, and civil and environmental engineering.
