I led a team of developers distributed across the company’s Thailand and Romania offices and together we developed and delivered a large variety of online casino mobile applications along with multiple products that are sold as connected services to multiple partners. Prior to me joining, the company hadn’t ever before created native mobile applications thus I wasn’t responsible only for building the actual product but also the team and the whole business model around it. I developed the whole mobile product suite MVPs from scratch (socket comms framework, local web server, casino game bundles integration) - we used the latest technology trends including Combine, SwiftUI, ODR for all our iOS production projects. For Android we’ve kept it at a lower complexity level for business reasons. Not only we tackled native mobile apps projects but also a lot of custom connected services (CMS, Events and notifications transport services, bespoke frontend platforms development). I led a team of 6 developers (juniors, mids and seniors) through developing the mobile app for new Kia Motors Company electric and hybrid car models. We built the app from the ground up and implemented a whole new range of features (from vehicle management to configuration, location management, charging, financial module, geofencing etc. ). My team and I also developed new version of Sony Music’s NowMusic app with realtime lyrics highlight feature while going through a major refactoring process for the whole data caching mechanism, local storage and networking modules. Built along with the team I was part of, the next generation communications framework that position themselves between trackers and iPhones. The project was uncharted territory as it daily pushed the research limits further and allowed us to develop a totally new way to send data from the tracker through the smartphone to cloud and viceversa.

Voya is one of the next-gen travel services. It uses a mix between real-time chat features and AI power to provide the easiest and fastest way of booking flights, hotels, buying train tickets or renting cars.At Voya I’ve been the mobile development lead with my main focus on the iOS product. While I had this position, the app went through 2 full UI&UX redesign processes as well as a codebase transition from Objective-C to Swift.I was deeply involved in new features development alongside with performance enhancements and stability incremental builds.

SafeDrive:This app has earned multiple awards like :Chivas The Venture 2016 Romania Winner Edison Awards NYC 2015 Gold Medal1st place Forbes 30 Awards 1st place Mobile Awards 1st place Webstock Awards Implemented a major app redesign both at UI and code level which helped us win Chivas The Venture competition in Romania. Addressed performance in multiple areas. Enhanced several areas of the app codebase by using design patterns. Added motion detection using CoreMotion, refactored the CoreLocation implementation. This way, battery usage and data usage were dramatically decreased while increasing the overall performance of the driving detection engine. Since the app is built upon Parse backend, I tuned the calls to Parse ensuring 25% decrease in data usage. Interpolis AutoModus: Wrote the app from scratch in Swift. Used MVVM pattern. Since the app is similar to SafeDrive in some way, by using MVVM instead of MVC, I achieved an easier to maintain, test and update project. Implemented native calls to custom backend (PHP Laravel with Mongo DB). Addressed security vulnerabilities by adding token encryption in Keychain and Certificate Pinning to all requests. Added internationalisation in order to support both NL and EN languages. Furthermore, I added a feature that detected if the user was wearing a headset, or was connected to a car kit in order to allow him earning points if he answered the phone but lose them if he makes a phone call. Milez: App completely written in Swift. Used MVVM pattern. Implemented Alamofire calls to custom backend (PHP Laravel with Mongo DB). Enhanced security by switching from Certificate Pinning to Public Key Pinning - thus eliminating the need to update the app if the certificate is replaced on the backend. Used Apple Music API in order to let the user control his music while driving. Added step by step navigation feature by using MapKit with Directions. Implemented PayPal SDK to handle withdraw requests.

I worked on Unified Practice - Healthcare iPad only app, written in Objective-C. Refactored multiple sections of the app and successfully submitted multiple updates to the AppStore. Fixed several bugs in the calendar section of the app. Optimised CoreData model usage. Added multiple epic features for stock management, recipe prescriptions based on existing stock medicines, predefined acupuncture maps for each patient, form rendering mechanism (custom UICollectionView with parameters fetched from backend).https://www.unifiedpractice.com

Tilt iOS SDK - Developed the feature that allows developers to integrate Tournament and Turn-by-turn playing modes within their apps. PeepsOut - Full app developed in Objective-C by me. Implemented multiple UI customisations and developed a performant mechanism for livestream playing. Also intensively customised the map pinpoints. Created a queueing mechanism for backend calls in order to avoid nested blocks. LineChecker - Wrote this app in Objective-C. Created multiple custom UI components and a high- performance yet low energy consuming engine to make backend calls. Implemented a feature that changes the UI colour scheme based on the time of day.

Successfully installed and configured the Aprimo system to meet HP’s specs. Developed numerous customised reports (SQL Server) and dashboards (MS Sharepoint, PHP, HTML) thus speeding up the decision process at higher levels. Identified several vulnerabilities and issues at both infrastructural and functional level and proactively fixed them along with the responsible parties. I performed numerous data migration sessions and removed any unnecessary steps from the process in order to optimise the information flow.

Lokko - this app has earned an award: “Most Innovative Project” by “Romanian Courier Business Awards 2014” 1st place at "GpeC 2014" I developed the app from the beginning. Worked on multiple projects via freelancer.com and elance.com . Most of the apps were relatively similar as they used the same methodology: fetch some data from a web service and show them in table views, collection views etc. However, it was a great starting point as it helped me get a better grasp on subjects like: Networking, Multithreading, Memory Management, OOP Design Patterns, custom UI development, prototyping, testing etc.
