Mentoring the first cohort of African Union Media Fellows, taking them through principles and structures to turn leverage immersive techonologies into their story ideas as well as how to build their projects into media businesses.African Union Media Fellowship is designed to provide a unique platform for African journalists and content producers to enhance their capacity to reframe the African narrative and promote developmental journalism using new and emerging technologies.Following the open call for the Fellowship in April 2022, over 800 applications from across Africa and the diaspora.15 Fellows were selected as the first cohort of AU Media Fellows they were chosen based on criteria of innovation and ability of their pitches to challenge harmful stereotypical narratives and shape new and balanced discourse about the continent.

I am part of a consulting team working on the Communication and Visibility of the EU and Tanzania Partnership 2020/21.Responsibilities include:-Organize communication campaigns on Gender and Youth; Climate Change; Transparency and Accountability- Promote the Africa-Europe Alliance as regards Tanzania, at the national, regional and global level- Enhance the communication and visibility of the partnership between the EU and Tanzania (including within EAC regional integration), in all its dimensions (political and economic, development cooperation, trade, and Foreign Direct Investment).- Support the EU Delegation in Tanzania in the development and implementation of communication and visibility activities in order to strengthen/increase the impact of the EU- TZ cooperation through;- Finalize and implement the EU Delegation's communication strategy- Promote the EU - Tanzania Partnership at national level

I4ID is a five year project funded by UKAid and IrishAid until 2021 and is implemented with a wide range of international and Tanzanian partners including i.e. BBC Media Action.CHAVITA is the The Tanzania Association of the Deaf (TAD) popularly known by its Swahili name Chama cha Viziwi Tanzania (CHAVITA). CHAVITA is the beneficiary of I4ID with the aim to help the community use Social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and YouTube and stand a better chance to further benefit most deaf community by upholding the proper use of sign language.Responsible for:Training/mentoring CHAVITA to create and publish contents of interest to deaf community in several platforms including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and YouTube. Designing, layout and produce graphics needed improve visuals and info graphics of CHAVITA’s social media pages.Improving visuals and info graphics, and push for systematic growth of CHAVITA’s current on-line deaf community across all social media platforms.Identifying content that create conversations around global issues related to CHAVITA’s mandate and keep the Tanzania Deaf on-line community engaged in dynamic, interactive and meaningful ways. Working closely with other team members within CHAVITA to design and coordinate multiple social media initiatives with the aim of breaking down complexities of issues related to deaf community and humanizing CHAVITA’s voice. Working with CHAVITA to develop a weekly and monthly online content management plan.Developing communications strategies for clients ensuring that the result matches the client’s objectives.

The Resource Governance Tanzania Fellowship is designed to support up to 3 senior or mid-career journalists over a nine-month period to deepen their existing capacity to report on extractives issues. The fellowship model is a response to the influence that in-depth reporting on the extractives sector can have and demand from journalists for more resources and skills to effectively pursue coverage of resource governance. Fellows will have the opportunity to engage in a range of flexible formal and informal learning opportunities.My role is to provide overall guidance to the fellows in developing their major fellowship deliverable, i.e. story development and publication. I am actively involved in roles related to story production and outreach to media houses, alongwith providing mentoring to fellows in developing their reporting projects.

I am the digital lead in Tanzania working for the Swahili service.I am tasked with setting up Tanzania's first digital desk that will serve the digital needs of the service aswell as the rest of the BBC.I am in charge of editorially overseeing the creation of original (video) content and online content that will serve Swahili audiences in the East African region.

I work closely with BBC reporters and producers in the East African region in an editorial capacity to output content for English, Swahili and Somali on TV, radio, and online for African, international and UK audiences.I draw up the agenda for tomorrow and beyond, marketing the best material to the widest possible number of BBC outlets and coming up with ideas for future output.I am also as a field producer, working with reporters and assisting with deployment logistics and broadcast equipment.
