I was the key scientific expert and decision maker in the project. I led the work of up to 6 people fully dedicated to the project and about 5 people partly in. The job was enjoyable collaboration with highly qualified professionals. I communicated with the customer several times a week by emails, phone meetings and reporting. Most of the time, I prepared the upcoming development project by making technical sketches of the first prototypes, defining specifications and creating the project plan by organizing and scheduling the work and estimating the budget.Besides that, I continued development of Gasera’s optical and photoacoustic detector technology.

I modeled the performance of the gas analyzer based on a unique technology combination applying Gasera gas detectors. I created a simulation tool with LabView to use the model. Simulation results led to starting a development project in 2015 for a customer aiming to a new product.Additionally, I developed Gasera key technologies including optical and photoacoustic detection. I made lots of testing and analyzing results.

I performed various measurements and testing in research and development, especially FTIR related tasks including similar prototype building as I did as a thesis worker. Additionally, I characterized the stability and emission curve of MEMS based infrared light sources and, by using Zemax, optimized a reflector for a broad band infrared source. I also calibrated Gasera gas analyzers in production. This was a part time job.

I designed and built four prototypes of the interferometer for Fourier transform infrared spectrometry as the main part of my PhD thesis accepted in May 2014. The interferometer had small footprint compared to its optical throughput. It was thermally highly stable. I designed the interferometer optics and participated strongly in mechanics and electronics design. I assembled mechanics and optics, made modifications to mechanical parts and built simple electronics including soldering. I started and developed the measurement services for the traffic induced vibration. I developed vibration study process and created automated analysis tools using Scilab, a MATLAB clone. I made studies of traffic induced ground vibrations from performing the measurements to data analysis and reporting results to customers. I assisted on studies on environmental noise and building acoustics.

I assisted scientific research in infrared spectroscopy laboratory. For example, I characterized experimentally the response of the silicon cantilever microphone for a photoacoustic sensor.
