Calculate electrical loads for various building occupancies in order to compile all schedules for switchboard, main distribution panel, panelboards, lighting, and electrical equipment. Sizing feeder for electrical equipment, motors, elevators, fire pump, transformers, etc. to make electrical one-line riser diagram. Conduct field surveys with accurate documentation later incorporated into electrical drawings, as well as said reports. Using SKM PowerTools software to perform arc flash, short circuit, and coordination studies on low and medium voltage power distribution networks including switchgear, panelboards, MCC, UPS, motors, elevators, etc. Study results are compiled and formatted into a report for client review and presentation. Under the supervision of senior engineers, design electrical systems for different facilities, from small office renovations to entire building systems. This includes low voltage systems such as complete structured cable design, MDF, IDF rooms, nurse call, secured door access, and video surveillance. Design interior and exterior lighting systems, including specifying fixtures to meet client demands and standards. Use COMcheck software to determine whether the building meets the requirements of the IECC and ASHRAE code. Specify and design lighting control systems to meet client needs and compliance with applicable energy codes and/or project LEED certifications. Using Visual lighting software to perform lighting calculations for interior/exterior spaces based on IECC and ASHRAE standards while incorporating client requests for specific lumen targets. Coordinate with other trade engineers and architects to ensure HVAC equipment, electric plumbing fixtures, fire protection system, lighting fixtures, and medical equipment are shown correctly on the drawings based on power availability.
