I am a Researcher and Entrepreneur in Bioinformatics and IA applied to health with more than 20 years of experience in the field. I graduated as a chemist at the University of Buenos Aires(UBA), then I got a Ph.D. in Biophysics and Bioinformatics at UBA, with training in Italy and the USA. I did a Postdoc in protein and drug design at the IFIBYNE-CONICET. Then I moved to the US for four years for post-doctoral training in Bioinformatics at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, Maryland. In 2009 I became a full professor in Bioinformatics at UBA and a Researcher at the Argentinian National Science Council (CONICET). I am a founder member of the Argentinian Bioinformatics Society. Director of the Argentinian Bioinformatics Platform and Coordinator of The National Genomics Database. I have published more than 100 peer-reviewed papers related to bioinformatics and its applications to biology and health. In 2015 I co-founded Bitgenia, the leading bioinformatics company in Latin America. I have been working in genomics application to the industry for several years now.I have led teams to develop software for human disease diagnosis, pathogen genomics, drug design, and protein simulation.
