Reunited with some old friends, I undertook a role for a UK business contact to assist with their offering in the sale of regulated financial products in Australia.

Multiple sensitive consulting and operational assignments for a number of organisations in education, NFP sector, retail, FP sector, transport and wholesalers. Reporting to business owners, directors, board or regulated appointee (insolvency). Centred around trading performance, improving operations, credit management & recovery, governance, VA trading & sales negations and organisation-wide restructures.

Relocated to Australia from the UK and experienced insolvency & restructuring professional practice under the new jurisdiction. Having worked to the front end of insolvency in the UK, I was used to being involved in strategy and case managed a portfolio of 30-40 cases. I played key role on a couple of large ‘bank appointed’ trading jobs which wasn’t too bad. Shut down abalone farm on ki. The remaining work was primarily on a small portfolio of SMEs - but zero voluntary work. All court liqs. Did get paid bonuses though 😉 Without doubt, the worst job I have ever had. Ancient hierarchy organisational structure. Lame internal policies that management would genuinely utilise to condescend staff with. Toxic culture and some seriously questionable management practices. Put me off insolvency practice entirely ~ where dreams go to die ☠️ Ironically, there was no chance of salvaging or turning around this firm.
