Indianapolis Power and Light is an investor owned electric utility that serves downtown Indianapolis and the surrounding areas. As an intern in Regulatory Affairs, I worked with a number of scenarios that were related to rate structures and programs offered by IPL. My work included financial and technical analysis, as well as the written and oral presentation of this information.-Developed Excel program to track which C&I customers had opted out of demand side management programs. The program tracked over 3 million MWh from over 5,000 customer accounts.-Analyzed financial impacts of performance incentives and lost revenues for demand side management programs using Excel. The program compared multiple scenarios and could be edited to determine the financial impacts up to $15 million.-Researched the structure of back-up rates for large C&I customers wishing to utilize combined heat and power. The research I presented to senior leadership offered an overview of the effects of different rate structures on CHP customers.-Studied the effects of solar panel installation on a customer's monthly bill. The project looked at peak demand data over a one year period to determine if solar panel installation would be beneficial to that customer.-Supported the development of public electric vehicle charging stations-Researched the VW Diesel Settlement and determined that IPL was eligible for funds to upgrade its fleet of vehicles
