Agricultural Engineer
Work with landowners and operators on engineering problems in connection with investigating, determining feasibility, preparing cost estimates, planning and designing, and installing conservation practices.Provides engineering guidance in the designing and application of conservation practices relating to water quality, quantity, delivery to land owners, municipalities, irrigation districts, etc.Reviews the engineering work designed and applied by other field office staff to assure that technical requirements of USDA, NRCS and the National Engineering Handbook standards are met.Prepares, develops and revises technical engineering materials as necessary.Provides technical guidance relating to standards and specifications as related to the Environmental Quality Incentive Program, Wetland Reserve Program (and other programs) and recommends certification.Works with landowners and field office staff to provide technical assistance through inventory and evaluation, development of engineering designs and construction inspection for conservation practices.
