In 2005, I graduated from Concorde Career College and started my nursing career as a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) working in Southern California Skilled Nursing Facilities and Home Health. Once receiving my Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2013 from West Coast University, as a Registered Nurse (RN), I transitioned from my previous career as an LVN into a bedside role in the Critical Care departments of highly decorated facilities in Southern California. I then moved into my current role at a full-time position at Torrance Memorial Medical Center in 2015 located at Torrance, CA. Over my tenure as a bedside clinician in the Intensive Care Unit, I have experience and am proficient with: Emergency Burn Trauma Care, Arterial Line Monitoring, Burn Management - Acute & Ongoing, Central Venous Pressure Monitoring, Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy, DIEP Flap Monitoring, Intra-abdominal Pressure Monitoring, Sedative and Paralytic Titration, Targeted Temperature Management, Vasoactive Medication Titration, VDR Management, Ventilator Management, Wound Care – Extensive, along with General Bedside Care. In 2018, I signed on with West Coast University as a Clinical Adjunct Instructor to help facilitate, educate, and foster nursing students to challenge my capabilities and offer potential for continuing skill, career development, and utilize my skills of teaching and help nursing students to achieve their goals and career objectives.My nursing philosophy highlights patient-centered care and education; My personal nursing philosophy is simple, and that is to simply treat each patient I encounter like they are my loved ones. I want to provide safe, compassionate, competent, and professional care to each patient I encounter and make them feel that they are in a safe space, no matter the outlook. I want to give my patient and their family the feeling that they are in the best and safest care possible. I do not want them to feel generalized, but individuals that deserve specific care and attention. Also, I believe that education leads to better results for all disciplines. Strong education and leadership with staff, family members, and patients will lead to the best results not only for the patient, but for all disciplines involved in their care.
