Designation:- Technical Manager(Performance)Period:- April 2011- April 2013 .Client:- Juniper NetworksProduct :- Srx Series. Team Size-18 SRX series is a UTM device which operates in L2-L7. It acts as a switch,router,firewall ,IPS and VPN device. I was handling a team of 4 who are dedicated to performance and scaling testing of SRX series. I was responsible for teams delivery and also day to day activities. The responsibilities included testing, planning to handle simultaneous releases, resource handling, testbed preparation, testing and validation of traffic generators, preparation of reports, metrices, defining and following test processes.

Cisco Security manager is a management solution for Cisco security devices which provides 3 verticals which are configuration Manager, Event Manager and Report Manager. This product is targeted for enterprises which has 10-500 devices. The architecture works on client server technology on windows platform and supports all range of Cisco security devices which are Advanced Security appliances(firewall, VPN),IPS devices and security module of Cisco routers and cat6k switches.. CSM is used by mainly security administrators to maintain the security devices used in a corporate network. The whole product can be divided in 4 modules with respect to Configuration Manager. They are VPN, FIREWALL, IPS and Systems module. As a part of my roles and responsibility I am responsible for the VPN module in CSM for a particular release. The responsibilities include,• Test planning for a project.• Review of Functional specification.• Effort estimation, Resource Planning, Risk calculation, Defining testing scope, Task allocation• Co-ordination between teams in Bangalore and in other Cisco ODCs.• Bug scribing• Training For TAC Engineers.• Beta Support which includes training, demo and handling beta customer issues• Testing of VPN – Site to site and RA Vpn(IPSEC and SSL)• Hardware Setup and maintenance.• Review of functional specs, test plan creation, test strategy.• Project tracking.• Co-ordiantion between test team and development team.

Responsible for the performance test deliverable of Juniper Secure Access device (Juniper SSL VPN Solution) which includes bench marking, standardization user guide lines for the particular platform as well as the product in general. The effort includes defining the performance scope, of new features and enhancements, Regression of previous well known performance scenarios, recreation of customer performance issues and publishing performance report and guidance to customers for every subsequent release. Expertise in usage of different commercial traffic generators which includes Spirent Smartbits, Spirent avalanche and reflectors, IXIA, IXVPN, and several proprietary home grown tools. Working experience on Juniper network security manager which is used to monitor and configure all the juniper devices deployed across the network I have tested the compatibility of juniper secure access device with the configuration software One of the major parts in testing in Juniper is the testing of the virtualized secure access. The virtualization is done in two ways. First one is a software solution which can be deployed on VMware server. The second one is the virtualization of the secure access within the box in which the data person is segregated to create multiple secure access devises which share a common hardware and system resources.As a part of performance testing my contribution is to test the limits of virtualization in both the scenarios. The hardware virtualization is out in the market by name of IVS and the software solution VA (Virtual Access) is scheduled to be released this year by April.

Responsible for planning and execution of different flavors of Conexant products which includes participation and guidance in each and every step of SDLC where the QA participates and contributes. On a brief the job profile includes defining the testing scope, planning the process and execution, effort estimation, resource allocation, task allocation, progress monitoring and bug tracking, as well as execution of VOIP and Security features. One of the major responsibilities was redefining the testing process to suit the dynamic needs of the release process.

Worked on the first IPS product – MacAfee Intrushield as a senior Test engineer. My Responsibilities included preparing test plans, test strategy for the future , test bed design , test execution , bug filing , bug verification ,creating customer scenarios.

Worked as a Member Technical Staff in HCL CODC in VOIP Technologies and worked on H323 Voice Protocol Suite. Here my responsibility includes running automated and regression test cases, for H323 Protocol. Incase of failure , I used to run the test case manually and modify the script by using TCL / TK to suit the changes made in the feature.
