The Jewellery Store – DMCC:DMCC is the Dubai Government body (Dubai Metal Commodity Center) and The Jewellery Store (TJS) was one its participants of the programme they started back in 2005.Reporting to: Director of Technology and Director of Operations.Responsibility: Launching the world’s first RFID solution required a person who had knowledge of multiple domains, where I was nominated for the position to bridge the gaps between the IT and the Jewellery Operations. Major challenge:To study the market and analyse the pain points faced by the daily operational teams in the jewellery industry.To Provide an exceptional & worthy solution to the problems and bring the leading industry members to a common platform in order to make their daily operations secure, time-saving and cost-effective.Being the bridge between departments always involved maintaining a good flow of information in order to avoid any technical mistakes while transitioning from operations to IT or vice versa.The 4 key drivers to the success of the project were Testing, QA, Training and Implementation which were to be executed uniformly everytime.Testing, Configuration and procuring of expensive RFID devices. Monitoring daily operations and coordinating with Project partners Standard Bank of London and Brinks for daily client activity and it’s actions. Designing, deployment and management and daily support to Asia's first largest jewellery valet which includes approx 35,000-40,000 jewellery individual items daily scanning.Daily (24/7/365) technical support to 50+ retail outlets, wholesales, central tagging divisions, lead company technical support team.Award and honour:An important member of the team who introduced RFID inventory physical counting system to the UAE jewellery market. Instrumental in getting the Company nominated for World RFID Breakthrough Awards for year 2006 for successful implementation of RFID Technology in Jewellery Industries.

Damas Jewellery LLC, Dubai: UAE based Multinational Jewellery Company Damas Jewellery LLC, Dubai-dealing in trading gold, diamond, pearl, and precious stones jewelry; and supermarkets and real estate. The company was run by Emirates nationals. It has 120+ Gold Retails stores and two head offices. Reporting to: Managing Director of Company. Responsibility: Designing a completely new IT infrastructure. Development and implementation of a new Business Application. Migration of the current Cobol data to the new business application front and backend.Major challenge:During mid of 90’s the jewellery industry of UAE lacked stand alone application for their day to day business activity. Therefore a business application was to be built from the ground up including the introduction of first-ever Gold and Diamond Jewellery Barcoding systems. Achievements: Introduced the Diamond Business application completely designed for UAE jewellery industry,Carried out requirement study and project planning for new enterprise business applications with Satyam, TATA, Softscript. Instrumental in bringing all the IT hardware and software to the Year 2000. A key-person for the introduction of RDBM Database (Sql Server 7.0/2000), business intelligent for finance and management report Requirements (Business Object).

Provided active support in Installation and configuration of three Compaq servers with Windows NT, Novell Netware.Achievements:Created more than 1500 network points for computer users within a very short time.Successfully managed 1500+ desktop pc, 3 servers, 100+ users in a challenging environment where unstable electrical power supply was a major concern.
