Spearheaded the Energy saving program portfolio across the fleet of 60+ cruise ships. Defined the Energy Strategy for the Group and, in particular, “Decarbonization of direct emissions.” Prominent figure in formulating corporate energy efficiency, transition, digitalization, and resiliency plans. Oversaw investment planning for energy saving technology retrofits (upwards of $300M); ensured securing capital and resources to execute the plans. Lead the efforts to solve the challenges pertaining to, the deployment of new technologies, Low/Zero carbon alternative fuel adoption barriers. Ensured regulatory compliance, collaboration across on policy and advocacy solutions that accelerates innovation. Built cross-sectoral partnerships and liaison with multiple stakeholders in academia, non-governmental organizations, industries, and government bodies, to evaluate and develop pathway plans to steer Net-Zero-carbon future for the maritime-shipping and create solutions for a Net-Zero cruise ship by 2035.

Managed the fuel consumption and budgetary forecasting of $1B+ as well as the future energy outlook. Led data science based strategic imperatives, resulting in $50M+ of annual fuel savings and cumulative 300K tons of annual greenhouse gas emissions reduction. Oversaw the technology assessment, qualification, planning, and engineering of more than 500+ energy saving projects with a cumulative investment of $175M+.

Spearheaded the future technology strategies and processes, including capital expenditure for the Maersk Line. Shaped up the Maersk’s fleet performance vision of “Connected Vessels” under a wider bunker optimization end-to-end program with a total budget of $70M. Pivotal in delivering a target total bunker fuel savings of $85M in 2015, highest ever to be recorded .

Analyzed critical vessel performance parameters trends and data reports to highlight the areas of improvement, including retrofits to maximize fuel savings and energy efficiency of the Maersk fleet. Instrumental in key client’s stakeholder management and developing their KPIs on bunker fuel savings.

Operated as a proactive liaison with the shoreside and shipboard personnel in Singapore to stimulate a culture focused on energy efficiency and intuitive responsiveness to the voyage performance parameters. Spearheaded a high ROI project comprising of steering a global steering committee within the Maersk group to ensure standardization and cost minimization of $15M, with regards to the maintenance of Auxiliary Engines.

Steered operations and machinery maintenance on main propulsion system and auxiliaries on board, always ensuring the best running conditions, minimum downtime and continued sea worthiness of the vessel. Executed technical expertise in troubleshooting and control for a safe and an efficient operation of the vessel. Coordinated with staff on-board, in work planning, dry-docking, inventory management, performance standards, safety, and team-leadership-mentoring.
