Since April 2021 I have been a Strategic Communicator at the Swedish Research Council, mainly serving the Office for ESS and MAX IV, and EISCAT.Between February 2013 and March 2021, I had the great pleasure and honour of being Head of Communications at MAX IV Laboratory in Lund. In June 2009 I left my position as a full-time politician to become a student in the Bachelor program of Strategic Communication at Lund University. From September 2011 I held a part-time position at Lund University, the first six months coordinating the production of the university's annual report and between March 2012 and March 2013 as Assisting Head of Communications. During the 90s I worked in accounting, first as an employee in different companies and then as a self-employed accountant. I am a big fan of budgeting. Before that I was in the restaurant business, a career I started as a teenager. I learned then to give the customer a little more than expected, and I still live by that. I speak, write and read English. I have studied, and “holiday practiced”, French and Spanish. I can order a Swedish midsummer meal in Russian; I can say thank you in Arabic, Turkish and Thai, and I believe that a smile is the best way to start a conversation.As for my personality, I think I make people comfortable, and thus able to concentrate on the task at hand. I see myself as a generous person, I believe that sharing is caring – especially knowledge and networks – and in return I expect people to give their best.I am a rational person who trusts her instincts and I speak my mind when necessary, but in a constructive way. I am interested in people, and why we do what we do, and I believe that I have something to learn from everyone I meet. I am an analyst. But I am also a doer. I don’t mind rules and regulations as long as they’re not there for their own sake. I am an early adopter of all things technical and I love to read really thick books.
