Responsible for- managing and leading the Hardware platform department- chairing the definition of Cochlear's products and systems architecture

Responsible for establishing product systems architecture leadership, processes, and mindset globally to identify and ensure high-quality, significant system architecture decisions to improve speed, efficiency, and effectiveness of individual project delivery.

In this role, I lead the platform team towards its purpose:"We create HW technology platforms that are at the heart of today's and tomorrow's Cochlear products. Therefore we build ASICs, firmware libraries and wireless components architected for efficient re-use”The purpose of this role is to make sure that the HW technology platform team deliver platforms that meet user requirements and regulatory standards and are on time and within budgets.Core competencies:- Setting strategic direction for the HW technology platforms within Cochlear / Technology road mapping- Building a competitive team- Ensuring platform people can develop themselves within Cochlear (people management)- Managing and supporting technology platforms from concept phase to project closure, and make sure the projects are delivered within schedule and budget

In this role, I was responsible for managing and coordinating the development of a set of ASIC projects developed in R&D/Technology development from concept phase to project closure. Core responsibilities:- As a project manager I was responsible for: -- Capturing requirements, developing plans, scope and budget -- Monitoring progress of the projects and solving problems as they arise to ensure deliverables are on time, within budget and to the agreed quality standards -- Communicating the progress of the projects to all stakeholders -- Creating strategies to manage risk and scope changes- Accountable for people management and mentoring of the ASIC team- Accountable for ensuring skills, methodologies, and technologies are present within the ASIC team, and to drive continuous improvements in these areas.

In this role, I was responsible for building and developing the capabilities of a team of ASIC/Electrical engineers. Core responsibilities:- Providing the team with a vision of the project objectives- Motivating and inspiring team members- Coaching and helping develop team members- Coordinating with internal and external stakeholders and partners

In this role, I was responsible for developing and verifying new integrated circuit (ASIC) technology solutions applicable to the field of implantable medical devices.Core responsibilities:- Specifying ASIC circuits / Requirements management- Designing digital ASIC circuits & architecture- Verifying and validating ASICs- Managing external vendors

Core responsibilities:- designing electronic and FPGA circuits- designing and programming FPGAs- designing verification test boards for ASIC verification- developing product firmware functions for 8/16-bit microcontroller core.- designing bootloaders (in ROM) for Cochlear's ASICs
