In May, 2022, I started my most exciting assignment to date. In 2012, I started at CBS Chicago as lead 10 PM newscast reporter. I was promoted to the lauded CBS 2 Investigator Unit in 2016. My investigative work exposed waste, righted wrongs, and passed laws; it even reunited a family separated for 30 years. In 2019, I broke the Jussie Smollett saga — that the TV star actually concocted a ‘hate crime’ against himself for attention. In 2020, an exposé on a bungled bureaucracy lead to the passage of Senate Bills 2339 and 2340 - which created a statewide mechanism for protecting the details of sex assault victims from the public. The two initiatives became Illinios Law in 2021. That year I also won the country’s top broadcast writing award - The National Edward R. Murrow award.

Represent the on-air talent at CBS Chicago, and successfully negotiated the passage of our first new union contract in 10+ years in 2015. I also serve on the national level of the union’s Broadcast Steering Committee.

I taught a 6-credit senior-level ‘capstone’ class in the Communication & Media Innovation Department. It's the final class before students become degreed journalists. It's laser-focused on power writing and enterprising stories. I continue to professionally mentor many of the students.

I was recruited to WISH TV by a former News Director. While there, I served in a multitude of rolls -- from investigative reporter to primary fill-in anchor. I was named Indiana Reporter of the Year by the Associated Press in my first year and netted four Regional Edward R. Murrow Awards in my tenure.

FOX recruited me to launch its "FOX 2 News Edge at 11" -- eventually it was the first successful 11 p.m. news competition in generations of Detroit TV. It remains the most successful *late* newscast in the FOX O&O family. I served as the show's dedicated reporter and primary fill-in anchor. While there, I was assaulted by the crooked mayor's bodyguard, conducted Dr. Jack Kevorkian's final interview, and my exposé on the Wayne County Morgue [Detroit] led to the burial of dozens of indigent souls, and fast-tracked a major expansion of the facility.

I served as the co-anchor of the markets #1 rated weekend newscasts and broke game-changing stories: exposing high-flying CyberNet CEO Barton Watson, who later committed suicide when he was revealed to be a con artist behind a $100,000,000+ Ponzi scheme. I was also first to question the rape conviction of mother Lorinda Swain, mother sentenced to 50-years in prison — Swain is now free today.
