Focused primarily on fostering innovation and technology development, typically looking to horizon 2+. Produced and aligned on strategic technical direction for the company. Invented novel solutions in our core competency areas. Lead cross-functional, inter-organizational efforts in on wide variety of topics.Acted as a technical representative to the greater Dell Technologies community (i.e. Architecture Review Board, Technical Process Council). To stay grounded, I regularly interacted directly with clients, present internally and externally, and occasionally lead or assisted on advanced incident response engagements.

Pioneered analytical tools and techniques for incident response in targeted intrusions (typically for large enterprise and/or targeted verticals) and for novel computing environments. Performed research and development of both client and back-end software. Lead advanced incident response engagements. Some international client relations.

Performed research and client support in the threat intelligence space. Reverse Engineering (mostly Windows and Android malware), trend analysis, quarterly/annual reports, and intersection with incident response.

Team lead for Competition Infrastructure Team, the team that designed and implemented the critical functions of the program from inception, through qualification, and the final event. I worked closely with the Program Manager on a $50M+ research effort to develop fully automated program analysis, verification, and mitigation on binary software. In this project I planned, advocated, developed, led, and executed a high-risk, in full view of international media, and under the oversight of the Dept. of Defense and Congress. I additionally served as one of seven Competition Final Event referees. I feel fortunate to have worked with and led the dozens of talented people that made this effort real.

Published original research across several inter-disciplinary teams with broad focus on aspects of security and privacy. In additional to continuing Digital Forensics research, extended into areas such as mobile security, usability, authentication, and green-field design of the Internet.Member of collaborative security and privacy lab CyLab, the Usable Privacy and Security gruop CUPS, and the Passwords Group, revisiting established norms in authentication.

Developed and delivered digital forensics and network security courses.

Developed and delivered DEF CON's Capture-the-Flag contest as a core member of Diutinus Defense Technologies Corp (DDTEK)

Digital Forensics developer and research lead for CERT forensics team. Supported several government agencies, strategically and tactically. Co-investigator for $7M multi-year grant to develop novel digital forensics tools and techniques. Provided per-engagement support to CERT forensics operations team.

Developer and designer for the Trusted Computing Exemplar project, meant to be a process and product example for a EAL7 / A1 system. Design contributor for SecureCore project. Served on Scholarship for Service (SFS) committee.

Developed and delivered new course: Payload Creation for Unix based systems. Co-instructor for Adv. topic in CS: Cyber Defense (CDX). Instructor for Network Security Course. (all graduate level)

Co-investigator for Survivability / Vulnerability Information Analysis Center. Lead for the university Scholarship for Service (SFS) program. Co-director for Security Technology Education and Analysis (STEAL) lab. Developed and delivered practitioner training for Rapid Response Cyber Forensics. Developed and delivered two academic new courses: Defining the AI boundary and Computer & Network Forensics.

Taught many sections of Introduction to Architecture and Introduction to Computer Programming.
