This may be through training and supporting external Editors, account management of partner presses, documenting policy and workflows, and maintaining quality standards. I act as the central point of contact throughout both the journal and book workflow, from the last stages of acquisition through production to publication and post-publication review. I also manage the Editorial team, including line-managing staff, developing policy and managing customer accounts. These roles require significant communication with the Production, Development and Finance teams.My primary responsibilities include:Journals• Set up and manage journals from acquisition• Train external Editors and Authors to manage submission/peer-review/copyediting• Host calls with Editors to provide support and to plan the development of the journal• Coordinate the press-releasing of topical articles• Arranging & distributing call for papersBooks• Liaise with authors to define all aspects of new book projects• Create and agree schedules• Co-ordinate the peer reveiw process and provide feedback to authors• Arrange the design of book covers – including ensuring copyright clearance for images• Send books for post-publication reviewGeneral• Set and maintain quality standards for the Editorial team• Problem solve technical or procedural issues• Produce reports, as required (e.g. journal progress to editors; forecasted workloads to suppliers)• Brief and coordinate the production of marketing materials for journals / books Show less
